Let’s travel from East to West as we learn more about adornment and fashion through the ages! Our first stop is ancient China, where we will look closely at the animals, colors, and symbols on embroidered squares called Buzi, worn by important people during the Qing dynasty. Get inspired to create your own unique design! Then learn about the specific materials and making process of traditional moccasins belonging to members of First Nations of North America. Look closely at images of this style of footwear to strengthen your understanding of the meanings woven into their designs. Continue your learning experience by exploring the digital resources in our virtual classroom space, before or after the program.

Programs will be held in a webinar format that offers an easy one-click connection to share in your classroom or with your learners joining remotely. Upon registration, we will provide more information about how to connect on this platform which you can share with your Technology team. Reach out to us at education@pennmuseum.org with any questions!
