What we wear has meaning. Our clothing, accessories, and body modifications encode and communicate important information about us -- about who we are, what we do, what we believe. On this tour, you will hear about and see some of the many stories told by the ensembles in this gallery. Some of them come from places and time periods far away – the lives and legacy of the Samurai, athletics in the ancient Mediterranean, tattoos in 19th century Borneo. Others are closer to home and highlight figures related to the city of Philadelphia. But no matter where these stories are from, they will allow you to reflect on the stories you wear.
